Vada Pav

During school days, it was like our daily food, wait for the break and rush to the canteen. It is like addiction, till now vada pav has special importance for us.
Easily available roadside snack is popular in Maharashtra.

Potatoes (Boiled)      6
Coriander Leaves      2 tbsp
Mustard seeds1 tsp
Salt1 tsp
Turmeric1 tsp
Oil25 ml
Cumin seeds  1 tsp 

Grind to paste:
Green Chillies       6
Garlic Cloves            6
Batter (To coat):                          
Gram flour(besan)11/2 cup
Salt 1/2 tbsp
Baking sodaa pinch

  1. Boil Potatoes and mash it.
  2. Heat oil add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves allow it to crackle. Saute green chili & garlic paste.
  3. Add mashed potato,salt & turmeric.
  4. Add chopped coriander leaves & mix it well. 
  5. Make small balls.
  6. For batter: Add gram flour, salt, turmeric, baking powder. Prepare a semi thick paste.
  7. Now, dip each ball in to batter & deep fry till golden brown.
