Raw Mango Murabba / Aam Ka Murabba

Hey, folks I know you are not interested in knowing what I had been up to, but there is one thing I should tell you that I missed all my blogger buddies. Hope you all are doing great and enjoying rain in your own ways. I’m wishing you a happy & peaceful Monsoon.
I know I am a bit late for this recipe. Hmmm but in case you get raw mangoes around you, give it a shot .With few ingredients, it is worth trying. You could store them to use later in a year.
Murabba or "morabba" is an Arabic word meaning to preserve. This versatile murabba is made of raw mangoes cooked in thick sugar syrup.

Raw Mangoes1 kg
Sugar1 kg
Water500 gm

  1. Make 4 pieces from one mango or cut them as per your choice.
  2. Peel off, wash and clean raw mangoes.
  3. Dissolve sugar in to 500 gm water, stirring occasionally. prepare sticky syrup.
  4. Add washed mangoes in to the syrup and simmer it for 4-5 minutes once it has boiled.
  5. Keep  it aside and let it set for 12hrs.
  6. Again place them on a gas stove and repeat the process twice.
  7. Check the consistency on the third time and store them once it is cool down.
    RS Notes :-)
  • Choose raw mangoes that are little sweet in taste for making murabba, it will consume less sugar.
  • Check the consistency of sugar syrup using thumb and first finger. It should be sticky.
