Namoona/Green Peas Stir Fry-Microwave Recipe( LG Convection Microwave Oven)

Why I have become lazy? It is so hard to lift a blanket early in the morning,breaking my own resolution of the year 2014.I hate myself not doing it.You know what my inner voice say’s to me;Hey Rashida,keep trying this is the starting days of this year and you have 353 more days to work on your resolution.
What do you think?
I think I should not get despair and pay heed to my inner voice.

Now coming to the recipe part Green peas blooms heavily in winter and use in various forms like Matar Rice,Aloo Matar,Matar Paneer and so on.Namoona(local term)is a stir fry green peas could serve with tea in evening.































Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Microwave Time : 30-40 minutes
Microwave Temp: 800c & 640c 
Serves: 2

Ingredients:
Green Peas(shelled)      2 cups
Salt      1/2 tbsp
Turmeric      1/2 tsp
Curry Leaves      1 sprig
Oil      2 tbsp
Coarsely Ground:      
Green Chillies      6
Garlic Cloves      6
Coriander Leaves      3 tbsp


Method:
  1. Heat the oil in a microwave safe bowl at 800c for 1 minute.
  2. Add curry leaves and let it splutter for 40 sec.
  3. Add turmeric and salt and mix the green peas properly.
  4. Add 1/4-cup water cover it.
  5. Now, set the microwave temperature at 640c and cook it until it gets tender.(approx 20minutes or less if you have soft green peas)
  6. Stir it occasionally by pressing pause button and restart it to complete the cooking process. Check if the green peas are soft and all water evaporated.
  7. Mix the ground ingredients in to green peas and cook it uncovers at the same temperature for 10 minutes or less. Oil separate out and peas are coated with green masala.
  8. Serve the green peas during teatime or pack it to your kid's school Tiffin's.


  RS Notes :-) 
  • Do not add excess water during cooking green peas. It will leave your peas mushy.
  • Cooking temperature and timing varies depending on the oven brand you used.
